Are you looking for a special winter activity in Basel? Then combine an evening on the Rhine with fondue, mulled wine, or a winter dinner. In winter, the Rhine becomes a special backdrop for enjoyable experiences in Basel. On the Winter boat of the Basler Personenschifffahrt, you can expect cheese fondue, Fondue Chinoise, mulled wine, and winter evening cruises. For companies and groups, we also offer Christmas dinners and Christmas parties at the boat.

EVENING CRUISE IN WINTER

From November 2026 to February 2027, the Rhystärn will become the winter boat. Enjoy fondue, Fondue Chinoise, mulled wine, curling fun, and Christmas dinner during a cruise through wintery Basel.

Hop on board, get in the mood outside in the winter pavilion with a mulled wine, and enjoy the view of festively illuminated Basel from the Rhine perspective.

In the warm boatbelly, you and your loved ones can end the evening with a mulled wine, a Fondue Chinoise, a cheese fondue with regional cheese and Beschle bread or other winter delicacies.

Book your winter enjoyment including table reservation conveniently online. You can reserve the culinary offerings already when booking or decide spontaneously on board.

We stop hourly from 5 PM at the boatlanding stage. Tickets are available online or at Basel Tourism at the main post office and are valid for the entire evening. A table reservation can be booked directly as well.

CHEESE FONDUE ON EVENING CRUISES

Cheese fondue is part of the Swiss winter – on the Rhine, it becomes a special experience. During the Cheese Fondue-boat you can enjoy fondue à discrétion during an evening cruise through Basel.

In the evening, you can enjoy this 3-course cheese fondue menu on the Rhinestärn:

- Lamb's lettuce
- Cheese fondue à discrétion with the Rhystärn mixture
- Pavlova

You can get this 3-course menu including evening cruise for CHF 80 and it can even be given as a voucher from our voucher shop.
